Despite losing a 117-110 decision to Charlotte last Tuesday, the oddsmakers at Las Vegas Sports Consultants have kept the Los Angeles Lakers in the top spot of their NBA Power Rankings. After the setback, Los Angeles rebounded with three straight victories both straight up and against the spread. The Lakers' offense has been on fire, averaging 124.3 points per game during this stretch.

Unfortunately for Phil Jackson and his troops, the recent run has been bitter sweet. The club lost center Andrew Bynum to another knee injury. The big man is expected to be 'out' 8 to 12 weeks. The public gets to find out just how good the Lakers are this week, when they conclude their six-game road trip against Boston on Thursday and Cleveland on Sunday.

Speaking of Boston, Doc Rivers' club is starting to heat up again. The Celtics have won 12 straight, half of them coming by double digits. The recent run has also benefited gamblers too, watching Boston go 8-3-1 ATS in the last 12.

After the Lakers game, the Celtics will play seven of their next eight games on the road but are fortunate to catch the All-Star break in between the rough stretch. The one home game is scheduled this Sunday versus another red-hot team, San Antonio.

The Spurs have gone 8-2 SU in their last 10 games, which includes five wins on the road. The club has jumped from the No. 8 spot to the fifth spot in this week's power rankings. Similar to the Celtics, the Spurs are facing a tough sequence away from home. Fortunately, San Antonio will have had four full days off when it faces Boston on Sunday. After this contest, the Spurs have five more games on the road but they do catch the aforementioned All-Star hiatus as well.

It would be wrong not to mention the bottom of the barrel and this week's rankings pit a new team in the cellar. That deserving club is Memphis, who took over the bottom spot from the L.A. Clippers. On Friday, Memphis gets a chance to take back the 29th spot in the rankings when it hosts the Clippers.

Below is a complete list of this week's rankings.
