Sunday at 3:05 pm EST Chris Sale and the Boston Red Sox take on Doug Fister and the Texas Rangers. This preview will be missing stats from the game played later on today as we are writing it before it is being played on Saturday.

The Red Sox are off to a great start this year and are 23-9 coming into Saturday. Chris Sale is 2-1 with a 2.14 ERA. You can expect him to put on a good performance almost every week. The offense should be able to give Sale some breathing room early as it averages 5.62 runs per game.

For Texas, Doug Fister also has a very respectable ERA at 2.88 and he is 1-2 on the season. The Rangers have had the opposite start to the Red Sox, in that they have not been dominant this year and are just 13-21. They are allowing 5.38 runs per contest. It is hard to win games with allowing that high of a score. They only score 4.06 RPG.

On the season, Boston moneyline backers are +$685 to the good. Rangers backers are -$131. The Rangers number isn't that bad considering how bad they have been. They have won some games where they were pretty decent underdogs.

Last year when Fister pitched against Boston, he was at the helm of a 8-2 win. Andrew Cashner was on the mound for the BoSox that day.

Boston is currently -220 favorites in this game. I know Chris Sale is pretty "lights out" but Fister is good this year and they are at home getting +200. You got to take the value where you can get it. Give me the Rangers 2/1 and if they can get into Boston's bullpen and get a few runs on them they can get this win.
