In the following three years, the Baltimore Orioles will win the World Series.
I’ll even surpass your expectations. The beginning of a dynasty is near for the Orioles. The term “dynasty” in baseball now becomes challenging since it is exceedingly challenging to win championships — and numerous ones — in a short period of time. But from 2010 through 2014, the San Francisco Giants were a dynasty. I believe we are currently seeing a dynasty with the Houston Astros.
If you give it some thought, the Astros and Orioles’ bases are starting to resemble one another uncannily. The Astros never ever reached the postseason from 2006 and 2014. They were the poorest team in baseball from 2011 to 2014. Why does that matter? draft choices.
The Orioles haven’t been in the playoffs since 2016. The Orioles were either the worst or second-worst team in MLB from 2018 to 2021.
What transpired for the Astros, then? The youthful draft picks began receiving calls. The Jose Altuves and George Springers of the world.
The Orioles’ Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, and Grayson Rodriguez are examples of it. Your new recruits are starting to emerge and exhibit brief moments of exceptional talent. And in the case of Rutschman, he is baseball’s top catcher.
The Astros’ other players include Carlos Correa and Alex Bregman.
Who is that Orioles player? Jeremy Holliday. Son of Matt Holliday and the first overall pick in the 19th round. He is the real deal, and thus far he has been crushing it at every level.
But he’s not the only one. Baltimore has three of the top 15 prospects in baseball and eight of the top 100.
The Orioles must capitalize on this situation, though, since you must fully commit. My concern with their organizational structure is there. They haven’t proven to me that they are prepared to invest and wager everything when the time is right. Put veteran talent all around your core when the writing is on the wall.
Check out what the Astros did. They went and grabbed Michael Brantley, Zack Greinke, Justin Verlander, and Gerrit Cole. The Baltimore Orioles’ moment has come. For a very, very long time, they can be a juggernaut.
You need top-of-the-rotation, dominant players. The Orioles currently have several fascinating players to watch, but I need aces. Yennier Cano and Félix Bautista make up their bullpen’s back end. Adding another top-notch bat would also be beneficial.
The Astros would win the World Series in 2017, according to Sports Illustrated’s cover story in 2014. I’ll be the one to predict that the Baltimore Orioles will win the World Series in 2026.
