The American League East rivalry returns for the first time this weekend with the Yankees and Red Sox. The two teams have not played each other yet in 2021, so all eyes are set on Yankee Stadium this weekend.

The Boston vs. New York game will headline the Sunday slate. The game will be showcased on ESPN. The first pitch from the Bronx on Sunday is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET. Garrett Richards will pitch for the Red Sox against Domingo German for the Yankees.

Domingo German has posted similar numbers to Richards in 2021. He is 4-3 with a 3.27 ERA. He has struck out 52 batters in 55 innings.

Richards has kept the ball in the yard, but he has walked 30 batters. German has given up 11 bombs, but he has only walked ten batters.

The pitching matchup is going to come down to who locates their pitches. If Richards stays around the zone, the Red Sox will have an advantage on Sunday night. If the Red Sox keep this play up, they will have been a great MLB regular season win total wager!

The Lineups

The Yankees have struggled at the plate, and nothing seems to be improving. Aaron Hicks and Luke Voit are injured. There is a chance that Voit plays on Sunday, but Hicks is on the 60-day IL.

Boston’s offensive attack is more well-rounded, and one of the best in the MLB so far. With players like Rafael Devers, Alex Verdugo, J.D. Martinez, it’s easy to see why.
