Particularly in Game 7, Miami’s supporting cast made a HUGE impression. In the first half of Game 7, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler were benched. Caleb Martin and the rest of the Heat’s supporting cast made some huge baskets to give the Heat a lead, but Boston was BRUTTAL from three-point range. Up until Jimmy lit up in the second half to help Miami pull away for good, that was enough to fend off the Celtics.

It’s a credit to the “Heat Culture” that has been instrumental in getting Miami to where they are now that they were able to win in a blowout after almost being the first team in NBA history to blow a 3-0 lead.

On the other hand, the Lakers’ performance was hailed as the best ever by a team that was swept, yet the Denver Nuggets handled the Lakers in just four games.

The Heat will have a challenging ascent. Jamal Murray is playing outstanding basketball, Nikola Jokic is playing like the best player in the NBA, and the Nuggets have a ton of depth. Has Miami prepared a response for Jokic? Can the Nuggets shoot past the zone defense of the Heat, which was so difficult for Boston? Will Miami be unable to handle the extended series and ascending into the altitude?
