Lamar Jackson Signs Largest Contract in NFL History With Ravens

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens have finally reached an agreement after two years of attempts, failures, tags, and even a trade request. The club said on Thursday that the two parties had reached an agreement in principle on a five-year extension.

According to CBS Sports NFL analyst Josina Anderson, Jackson’s contract is for $260 million over five years. Jackson now has the highest average yearly salary in the league at $52 million. Jackson now has the highest salary in the NFL, surpassing Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who just signed a five-year, $255 million agreement. Jackson’s contract has $185M guaranteed money as per Anderson.

The information was released a month after Jackson asked for a trade after the two parties once more failed to reach an agreement on a new deal. The non-exclusive rights tag has already been applied by the Ravens to Jackson, a former league MVP and two-time Pro Bowl quarterback.
