Deshaun Watson was passable in Week 2 following a terrible first, but this offense is still not very good. In terms of pass-blocking evaluations, James Hudson is ranked 65th out of 71 qualified tackles by PFF, while Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills are still sidelined. Nick Chubb is obviously missed by the Browns offense, and Amari Cooper appears to have lost a step. Deshaun Watson has a passer rating that ranks 31st, only above Bo Nix.
But it seems like the Giants are coming up with fresh ways to lose. During the first kickoff on Sunday, kicker Graham Gano hurt his hamstring while attempting to tackle a returner, leaving the team without a kicker in a 21-18 loss. For Giants supporters, it’s an unusually harsh punishment. Malik Nabers was excellent, and Daniel Jones appeared better in a clearer pocket, but facing Jim Schwartz’s defense on the road won’t be enjoyable.
The Giants just lost in Washington to perhaps the second worst team in the league. They start a rookie at QB and will be in very hostile territory. I cannot see this going any other way that the Browns blowing the doors off the Giants.
