5 Different Types of Wagers

Straight Wager - A straight wager is when a single bet is placed on a point spread, money line, or total. A bet is placed on the favorite, the team with the highest odds of winning, the underdog / dog, the team with the least chance of winning or the final score of the game. It could be over, under or a total that is already predetermined.

Parlay - A parlay is a combination of two to ten straight wagers that are placed as one single wager. In order for you to win the bet, all of your picks must be winners. This higher risk will result in an even greater payout, calculated according to all of the money lines. If there is a tie or 'No Action' among the selections made, the parlay reverts down to the next lowest number for the payoff. In the case of a 2-team parlay, it will revert down to a straight wager.

Teaser - A teaser wager is the selection of two or more teams in one single wager in which the point spread is adjusted in the player's favor. The number of teams that are selected and the number of points that are selected determine the payout odds. Ties on a teaser with three or more teams will revert to a lower teaser.

Total points - When you bet the total points, you're saying that the combined scores of the two teams will be more than or less than a certain number.

Futures - Futures are wagers in which odds are posted in advance on the winners of various major events such as the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Stanley Cup, or the NBA Championship. By betting early, players receive better odds than they would if they bet later in the season.
