The Blue Jays have a great start to the season and are 12-6. The Yanks are just 9-8 right now. So what's going on?

The Bronx Bombers are living up to their nicknames and scoring over 5 runs per game. But, they are also allowing about that much per game as well. Their pitching has been very inconsistent however. Toronto on the other hand is scoring 5 and allowing just over 3 runs per game. This is the team overall report but as you know baseball is a game by game marathon and the pitching is what really decides each game.

Marcus Stroman is on the mound for Toronto. It has been a rough year for this young man. He is 0-1 with a 7.98 ERA. He played against the Yanks back on the first of April and allowed four earned runs in a no-decision. There is no evidence he will play any better this time around. He is really struggling.

25 year old Jordan Montgomery is on the hill for the Yankees. He is 1-0 with a 4.70 ERA. This guy looks like he may have a promising future ahead of him. And with the bats that the Yankees have it has to give him the confidence he needs to pitch well.

As well as Toronto has been playing this year I want to say take a chance on them in this game but the numbers say another thing. The Yank bats are heating up and Stroman has not proved he belongs at this level. Montgomery is a bright spot for the Yanks and I look for the Yankees to pull out this win.
